General Information

Registration Fees:

Tackle Football : $150.00 (includes Red and White game jerseys)
Tackle Cheer : $130.00 (includes 1 warm up suit)
Poms : $130.00 (includes performance uniform and 1 set of poms)
Flag Football : $85.00 (includes 1 reversible jersey)
Flag Cheer : $95.00 (includes 1 warm up suit and 1 set of poms)

Multi-child discounts and payment plans are available.

Divisions:

Your child's Tackle Football division will be based on their grade. Cheerleaders will be assigned based on grade. Poms will be one team of Non Competitive Youth Poms and one Competitive Poms.
We are back to weighing in before each game so your child's position availability could change from week to week if they are close to "LineMen" Weight

Freshman:
  • Limited to 3rd and 4th Graders (with the 8yr old exceptions).
  • if player weighs under 125 pounds (with equipment including helmet) they are able to run the ball. If a player weighs over 125 pounds (with equipment including helmet) you are required to play offensive or defensive line only (inside the tackle boxes).

Junior Varsity:

  • Limited to 5th and 6th Graders.
  • if a player weighs under 145 pounds (with equipment including helmet) they are able to run the ball. If a player weighs over 145 pounds (with equipment including helmet) you are required to play offensive or defensive line only (inside the tackle boxes).

5-6 (Flag Only):

  • Limited to players 5 and 6 years of age, who do not turn 7 years of age on or before December 31 of this year.

7-8 (Flag Only):

  • Limited to players 7 and 8 years of age, who do not turn 9 years of age on or before December 31 of this year.

Equipment Supplied:

Tackle Football:
  • Helmet (with Chin Strap)
  • Shoulder Pads
  • Game Pants (with Integrated Pads)
  • Practice Pants (with Integrated Pads)
  • Home (RED) and Away (WHITE) jerseys are included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.

NOTE : Any personal equipment to be used in place of the provided equipment (chin strap, sholder pads) as well as some of additional equipment like those listed below (face-mask shields), must be inspected and approved by the SCYF Field Commissioner before being used.

Tackle Cheer:
  • Skirt/Vest Uniform
  • Warm-Ups are included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.
Poms:
  • Uniform/Dance Outfit is included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.
  • Set of Poms are included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.
Flag Football:
  • Flag Belt
  • Reversible jersey with NFL Team logos and colors are kept by participants at the end of the season.
Flag Cheer:
  • Warm-Ups are included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.
  • Set of Poms are included with sign-up fees and are kept by participants at the end of the season.

Additional Equipment:

Football: The following items are not provided by the SCYF organization. Recommendations for each item are listed below.
  • Mouth Guard (REQUIRED) - Mouth guards should be of a solid color with straps to allow it to be connected to the helmet's face shield. Clear or White mouth guards and those without straps are not allowed per MYFL rules. The mouth guard should be cut back and fitted to cover all of the teeth.
  • Jock/Cup (REQUIRED)
  • Cleats - (See allowed football cleat types below)
  • Socks- Solid White Over the Calf Socks
  • Gloves/Forearm Guards - (See allowed football glove types below)
  • Face-Mask Shields (Not Recommended) - Clear face mask shields are allowed for eye protection. Shaded masks of any type are not allowed.
  • Towels/Handmuffs - Allowed per league rules but cannot be yellow in color.
  • Cold Weather Gear - Most cold weather gear is allowed. Recommended to not wear any hooded sweatshirts (keep hood under pads/jersey if used).
Cheer/Poms: The following items are not provided by the SCYF organization. Recommendations for each item are listed below.

  • Black Leggings (REQUIRED) (Poms)

Notice:

Cleats:

All purpose cleats, turf or gym shoes must be worn by all players. Removable cleats with no longer than ½ inch are allowed. Shoes with metal cleats or removable metal tips are prohibited. Players must wear acceptable cleats at official check in. The kicker may put on a kicking shoe while on the sideline.

Gloves/Forearm Guards:

The gloves and guards have to have the tag NOCSAE on the cuff. Most Nike brand youth gloves/guards meet this standard, whereas Under Armour youth gloves do not. If you purchase a glove/guard without the NOCSAE tag, your child would not be allowed to wear them in the game. This is a MHSAA mandated rule. Look for a tag like this on the equipment.

As a reminder there are entry fees this year.

  • Coaches and Players are Free. 55 and Over and 5 and Under are Free.
  • It is $3 per person for everyone else and if you have 4 or more family members coming in at one time it is $10.
  • Tackle Please arrive to your location 1.5 hours prior to your game.
  • Cheer please arrive to your location 1 hour prior to your game.
  • Flag and Flag Cheer please arrive to your location 30 minutes prior to your game.
